Everyone knows the difference between a house and a home. As you walk into 6852 Widgeon Place, it is first a foremost a structure. That’s what you’re looking for. A place to spend your days and nights. A place for your people. A place for your stuff. A venue to… Read More host holidays and spend quiet moments reading, thinking, connecting with yourself and anyone who shares this address with you. But while you’re looking to buy a house, what you ultimately want is a home. And I can tell you this house, makes a great home! Let me tell you some of the things we’ve discovered about this home over the last five years, and we think you will come to love if you decide to make it yours: It is bright with natural sunlight streaming in all day and moonlight casting a soft glow at night. It is so very quiet. I can honestly tell you we have never heard a single through-the-wall sound from our neighbors on either side. The folks on the north side have a lovely fountain in their backyard that makes a sweet sound we hear when our bedroom window is open, but other than that, we’re never aware of the folks on either side. It is so very private. Until about six months ago, believe it or not, we didn’t even have curtains on the primary-suite sliding glass doors. It is so dark at night and private all the time that we didn’t need them. The birds! The only interruption to the silence is a symphony of sweet birdsong. The morning and daylight hours are filled with the tweets, trills, and chirps of finches, warblers, sparrows, towhees, Coopers Hawks, mourning doves, to name a few. Nighttime brings the low and moody hoot of Great Horned Owls, not every night, but often enough for us to feel like our yard is a favorite. The Neighborhood: You are a short 1/4 mile walk to the San Elijo Lagoon trailhead and 2 miles of nature trails, wild flowers, and bird-watching. Similarly, you can enjoy benefits of being an Aviara Community member with access and discounts to the golf, gym, restaurants just 1/2 mile away. The amazing Dove Library with stacks of books, a vast and playful children’s section, meeting rooms to rent, expansive spaces to cowork, and a cafe outside with great coffee chai lattes, soup and sandwiches is about a 10-minute walk. You can also walk to the movies (Cineoplis), grocery store (Vons), fun restaurants, coffee shop (La Costa Coffee), a handy UPS store, an Urgent Care, etc. all in the complex at the corner. World-class public schools are around the corner, and you see moms and dads walking their kids to and from school like a throwback from another time. The pools and Jacuzzis, beach volleyball courts, and the close-by trail behind the house with views of the stunning Aviara Golf Resort make it even more special. This place is more than meets the eye, it’s gorgeous, bright and cheery, and we can promise you it will fill your spirit as well as provide a roof over your people and possessions. Welcome Home!
